LI-NING DEBUTS RETAIL STORE IN THE USA
Li Ning Company Limited, one of the leading sports brand enterprises in China, announced the grand opening of its retail showroom in the USA and the launch of the Company’s USA retail website: www.li-ningusa.com.
Gracing the February 15th store opening in a ribbon-cutting ceremony was Li-Ning’s sponsored, all-star NBA athlete Baron Davis of the LA Clippers along with Portland Mayor Sam Adams.
Li-Ning initially established the facility solely as a footwear global innovation center in 2007. It chose Portland, Ore. due to the vast footwear expertise available in the city and its easy access to Li-Ning’s global headquarters in Beijing , according to Li-Ning USA’s General Manager Jay Li.
Li-Ning USA’s product offering includes footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories from the Company’s badminton, table tennis, basketball and lifestyle lines. Baron Davis and Li-Ning USA’s staff of 23 proudly unveiled the “BD DOOM” basketball shoes at its opening event. Consumers also lined up outside the store, to take advantage of a special promotion to buy the “BD DOOM” and a limited edition “Beardman” vinyl toy autographed by Baron Davis himself.
About Li-Ning:
The name Li-Ning first made its mark in the US when Mr. Li Ning himself won three gold medals in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles (for which he was named “China’s Best Athlete” in 1985). Following his retirement, Mr. Li Ning founded Li-Ning Company Limited in 1990, a company whose products include footwear, apparel, accessories and equipment for sport
